Turner, 65, well-known resident of the Adams Grove community, died at her home Sunday night, August 26, after an illness of many months. She was a native of Southampton County and the daughter of Mrs. Anna Barden Turner of Adams Grove and the late George W. Turner of this county. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church, in which she was a teacher of the Ladies Bible Class of many years, also a member of the Woman’s Missionary Society. Besides her mother, she is survived by one sister, Mrs. W.B. McPherson of Roanoke; three brothers, George D. Turner, Percy B. Turner and Vernon L. Turner, all of Adams Grove; one niece, Miss Ethel M. McPherson and one nephew, Wilson Otey McPherson, both of Roanoke. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Hebron Baptist Church by the pastor, Rev. W.W. Stennett, assisted by Rev. William B. Ferguson, pastor of Boykins Methodist Church. Burial was in Capron Cemetery. Pallbearers were Allen Partridge, Gordon Grizzard, Arthur Mattox, Roy Ricks, Otis Davis, Howard Simmons, Amos Pope and Allen Harris.
