All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ANNIE BOONE TURNER Boykins - Mrs. Annie Boone Turner, 71, clerk since 1940 of Southampton County Selective Service Board, died Sunday at 6:15 p.m. in a Franklin hospital. She was cited by the federal government several times for her work. She was a past worthy matron of Southampton County Eastern Star Chapter and a member of Boykins Baptist Church and Boykins Women’s Club. A native of Northampton County, N.C., she was a daughter of William Burgess and Mrs. Annie Lula Harris Boone. She was the widow of Charlie P. Turner. Surviving are a daughter Mrs. Camille T. Gray of Norfolk; two brothers, J.C. Boone of Norfolk and W.J. Boone of Orlando, Fla. and two granddaughters, Mrs. Camille Overton and Miss Gail Gray of Norfolk. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Boykins Baptist Church by the Rev. Ben B. Ussery. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, with McDowell Funeral Home in charge.
