ARTHUR WEST TURNER

   Arthur West Turner, 58*, an employee of the Town of Franklin, died on a 
heart attack on Saturday afternoon, April 12, at his home on Jackson Street. 
He had been working in his garden and had returned to the house when the fatal 
attack occurred.

   The deceased was the son of the late Samuel J. and Mrs. Lucy West Turner 
of this county.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Rountree Turner; two 
daughters, Mrs. Hazel Turner Harrison of Alexandria and Miss Annie Mae Turner 
of Franklin; and one grandson, Floyd W. Harrison of Alexandria.

   Funeral services for Mr. Turner were conducted at 4 o’clock Monday 
afternoon in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons by Rev. W.A. Grissom, 
followed by burial in Poplar Spring Cemetery.  The active pallbearers were 
Edwin Beale, Otis Blythe, T.J. Cox, Mills Daughtrey, J.R. Howell, C.H. Jay, 
Delbrow Johnson and Richard Poole.
