Ira D. Hudgins, pastor of the Franklin Baptist Church and the Rev. R.E. Brittle, pastor of the Bethlehem Christian Church, Suffolk. The body was taken to the W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home. A native of Franklin he was a son of Mrs. Anna Kea Turner and the late Charles T. Turner. For 15 or 20 years he had been employed by the W.H. Scott Construction Co. here and was a member of the Franklin Baptist church. Besides his mother, he is survived by a brother, Peyton T. Turner; four sisters, Mrs. Francis T. Beale, Mrs. Lawrence Councill Sr., Mrs. S.E. Eubanks and Mrs. Ecil Rader, and nieces and nephews all of Franklin. ****************************************************************************** CHARLES HOWARD TURNER Charles Howard Turner, 44, of Franklin, construction supervisor, died early Sunday, September 8, after a month’s illness. He was the son of Mrs. Anna Kea Turner and the late Charles T. Turner, and was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church. For 15 or 20 years he had been employed by the W.H. Scott Construction Co., in Franklin. Besides his mother he is survived by a brother, Peyton T. Turner; four sisters, Mrs. Frances T. Beale, Mrs. Lawrence Councill, Sr., Mrs. S.E. Eubanks and Mrs. Ecil Rader; and several nieces and nephews, all of Franklin. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the graveside in Poplar Spring Cemetery by Rev. Ira D. Hudgins, pastor of the Franklin Baptist Church, and Rev. R.E. Brittle, pastor of the Bethleham United Church of Christ near Suffolk.
