Holland & Sons Funeral Chapel, Franklin, by the Rev. C.L. Gatling. Burial was in Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were seamen from the U.S.S. Richard E. Byrd, Norfolk. Turner, 20, died instantly Sunday night from results of an automobile accident. Turner was assigned to the destroyer Richard Byrd, based in Norfolk. A native of Southampton County, Turner was a son of Edgar Lee and Mrs. Doris Bradshaw Turner. Besides his parents, surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Carolyn Ann White of Emporia, and Mrs. Jean Evelyn Green of Zuni, and a brother Robert Harrell Turner of Franklin.
