He was a farmer. A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of Mrs. Janie Ward Turner. He was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church. Other survivors include two daughters, Evelyn Green of Carrsville and Mrs. Carolyn White of Windsor; a son, Harold Turner of Courtland; three stepsons, Thomas J. Ward III of Ft. Brigg, N.C., Jerry Allen Ward of Erie, Pa., and Frank E. Ward of Norfolk two sisters, Mrs. August Bradshaw and Mrs. William Billups of Franklin; and six grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Larry Cribb. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley.
