Turner, 59 year old farmer of Capron, was held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral chapel by the Rev. Dalphon J. Thompson, pastor of Capron Baptist Church. Burial was made in Capron Cemetery. Turner, who died Friday after a brief illness, was a former deacon in the Capron Baptist Church and a member of the Sebrell Ruritan Club. He was the son of the late Norman and Alice Wall Turner of Southampton County. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Carrie Marks Turner; two daughters, Mrs. Kathleen T. Maitland of Petersburg, and Mrs. Betty T. Marks of Sebrell; one son, Marks Turner of Capron, nine grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Roxie T. Vick, and Mrs. Littie T. Gay, both of Emporia, and Mrs. Alton T. Livesay of Durham, N.C. Pallbearers were Earl Harrell, Herman Jarratt, Edward Crenshaw, L.R. Magee, Ira H. Barham, Willie Johnson, Roland Baker and B.S. Pittman, Jr. Gilbert William TURNER, of Capron, farmer, Southampton Co. native, d. 3 Jan 1964, enroute to hospital, age 59, interred in Capron Cemetery*, 5 Jan 1964, "The Tidewater News" (Franklin, VA), Jan. 9, 1964, Sect.
