TURNER WELDON - Millard Nilmore [sic; Filmore] Turner, 81, died at his home here Thursday. Funeral services will be conducted from the Weldon Methodist Church Friday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock by the Rev. P.O. Lee and burial will be in Cedarwood Cemetery. Mr. Turner was born in Southampton County, Va., and was the son of the late Joseph and Adeline Whitehead Turner. He had made his home in Weldon for 11 years, coming here from Tillery and Caledonia State Prison farm for a number of years. He was a member of the Weldon Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Odelia Virginia Doyle Turner of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Hazel Jones of Weldon, Mrs. Ora Katherine Eadie of Washington, N.C.; two sons, Roy Lee and Kenneth C. Turner, both of Weldon; one brother, Eugene Turner of Louisburg; and two grandchildren.
