All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ MARY JANE BUNCH TURNER Mrs. Mary Jane Bunch Turner, aged 56*, wife of Charlie Herbert Turner of Franklin, died at her home near Franklin Saturday night after a short illness. Mrs. Turner was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Kitchen Bunch* of Southampton County. Besides her husband she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Annie T. Gardner, Mrs. Leroy Vaughan, Misses Katherine and Marie Turner, all of Franklin; three sons, Matthew, Charlie H. Jr., and John P. Turner, of Franklin; one brother, Joseph C. Bunch of Franklin; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Dundalow of Portsmouth, and Mrs. Martha Snooks of Ivor; three grandchildren, Virginia Mae Shamn, Carolyn Turner and Jesse Gardner Jr., all of Franklin. Services were conducted from the residence in the community at 3 o’clock Monday afternoon by the Rev. R.D. Stephenson of Franklin Baptist Church, her pastor, assisted by the Rev. John B. Isom of Courtland Baptist Church. Burial took place in Poplar Spring Cemetery here with the following pallbearers: R.C. Branch, Franklin Edwards, Elliott Whitfield, F.E. Howell, E.A. Davis and Geo.
