Umphlett, 49, a farmer of the Zuni Community, died Saturday. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Tucker Swamp Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Remains rest at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield. ****************************************************************************** Lonnie R Umphlette Zuni - Lonnie Riddick Umphlette, 49, died Saturday in Medical College of Virginia Hospital, Richmond. A Southampton County farmer, he was a member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church and Zuni Hunt Club. Survivors include two brothers, J. Louis Umphlette of Zuni and Gordon Umphlette of Stony Point, NY; and two sisters, Mrs. Martha Rhodes of Windsor and Mrs. Mamie Martin of Williamsburg. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 pm in Tucker Swamp Baptist Church by the Rev. William Kissinger and the Rev. J.W. Horne. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery with Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, in charge. The family will be at the J.L. Pallbearers were: Willard Peden, Terry Hedgepeth, Eddie Ray Hedgepeth, Shirley Holland, William Vassar, Roy Pippin, Herman Bowden and Jimmie Bryant.
