JOSEPH SIDNEY UMPHLETTE

   ZUNI - J. Sidney Umphlette, 48, farmer, died en route to Obici Hospital 
Sunday after a heart attack at his home near here.

   A lifelong resident here, he was a son of Mrs. Lizzie L. Umphlette and the 
late Lonnie R. Umphlette.  He was a deacon of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church and 
a charter member of Zuni Ruritan Club.

   Surviving besides his mother are his wife, Mrs. Eunice M. Umphlette; three 
daughters, Mrs. Marion Neighbors of Windsor, Miss Kathleen Umphlette and Miss 
Sharon Umphlette of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Eugene Rhodes of Windsor and 
Mrs. J. L. Martin of Williamsburg; four brothers, J. Louis Umphlette, Lonnie 
R. Umphlette and Ulysses Umphlette of Zuni and Gordon Umphlette of 
Garnersville, N.Y.

   A funeral service was held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Tucker Swamp Baptist Church 
by the Rev. J.W. Horne, pastor, with burial in the church cemetery.
