Ivey Underwood, Sunday at 4:30 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins assisted by the Rev. Dallas Stallings. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Alden H. Gee, Lawless Cobb, W.R. Butler Sr., Henry Holland, William Leggett and Fenton Bryant. Underwood, 53, died Friday morning in Southampton Memorial Hospital. A native of Southampton County, he was a son of Edward T. and Mrs. Emily Bryant Underwood and the husband of Mrs. Susie Baugham Underwood. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, John Ellwood Underwood, and a daughter, Miss Barbara Jean Underwood, both of Franklin; a sister, Mrs. Emily Clemons of Cincinnati; and two brothers, James T. Underwood and Frederick F. Underwood of Franklin.
