MARTHA REBECCA "PATTIE" URQUHART

   Funeral services for Miss Pattie Urquhart, aged 71 years, who died 
Saturday at 10:30 o’clock at her ancestral home, Charlie’s Hope, were held 
at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Courtland Sunday afternoon at 2:30.

   Miss Urquhart, a member of the Urquhart family of Southampton County 
was prominently connected throughout the county and State.  She suffered a 
paralytic stroke several years ago and had been in feeble health since that 
time, though she had taken her bed only ten days before her death.  She was 
the daughter of the late William and Mrs. Anne Eliza Urquhart and was a 
faithful communicant of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Courtland.

   Surviving are one sister, Miss Lucy Urquhart of Charlie’s Hope; two 
nephews, Stuart Lewis of Suffolk and Wilkins Lewis of Jackson, N.C., besides 
a number of cousins.  Two sisters, Miss Lou Urquhart and Miss Annie Urquhart 
died several years ago.

   The active pallbearers were: W.E. Ellis, A.E. Briggs, R.R. Reese, Barclay 
Pretlow, Charles F. Urquhart, Jr., R.H. Stephenson, Jr., and J.H. Gray.  
Honorary: H.P. Burgwyn, Chas, W. Davis, R.A. Pretlow, F.A. Holladay, Dr. E.F. 
Reese, Dr. P.P. Cause, Dr. R.L. Raiford, Dr. A.W. Lewis, E.F. Reese, Sr., 
J.A. Pretlow, J.P. Lee, ...*.
