Vick, a prominent young merchant of Southampton County, died at his home, near Courtland, on Wednesday, February 19th. He was the oldest son of Mrs. J.S. Vick, and was 33 years old. He was a popular young man, and was the sunshine of his home. He was of frail constitution and, within the last year or more had been in feeble health. In November he went to Norfolk to consult a specialist; but his condition became no better, and he gradually grew worse. He was a member of the Boykins Baptist Church, and leaves a mother, father, two brothers, W.B. Vick, of Nogo, Va., and M.S. Vick of near Courtland; one sister, Mrs. Mary Lankford, of Portsmouth, besides a large number of relatives and friends to mourn their loss. The solemn funeral service was conducted by his pastor by his pastor, Rev. T.M. Green. The following were pallbearers: C.W. Dickens, E.H. Joyner, O.S. Pope, G.T. Pope, P.E. Knight, and S.J. Whitehead; and the interment was made in the Boykins Cemetery on Thursday afternoon, at 3:30. The sorrowing family and relatives have the sympathy of many friends in their bereavement. [Aaron E.
