All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ BETTY NORMAN LAMB VICK Mrs. Betty Norman Lamb Vick, a well-known resident of Courtland, died at her home there early Sunday morning, April 20, after an illness of several months. Mrs. Vick was the daughter of the late John and Mrs. Rosa Turner Lamb of this county, and she was a member of Applewhite Methodist Church, near Capron, in which she served for many years. She is survived by her husband, Jesse Davis Vick of Courtland; three sons, Lloyd J. Vick of Portsmouth, J. Alton Vick of Franklin, and George W. Vick of Courtland; five daughters, , Mrs. Marion Vick Journigan of Courtland, Miss Corinne Vick of Norfolk, and Mrs. Frances Ward, Mrs. Betty Wine and Mrs. Ida Lassiter, all of Portsmouth; and 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services for Mrs. Vick were conducted in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons on Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock by Revs. J.T. Cassell, W.D. Staples and Otis L. Gilliam. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland, the active pallbearers being Emmett Applewhite, S.N. Cobb, P.B. Davis, R.G. Edwards, Sr., T.P. Gilbert, W.B. Simmons, 3d, W.H. Story and Mr. Lamb.
