All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ CICERO VICK Cicero Vick, 55, well-known Branchville citizen and section master for the Seaboard Air Line at that point for a number of years, died suddenly Thursday morning about 7 o'clock in the home of Dr. J.J. Grizzard where Mr. Vick had gone for medical attention. Mr. Vick was a member of the Branchville Baptist Church where his funeral will be held this (Friday) afternoon at 3 o'clock. He is survived by his wife, three children and a wide family connection. ****************************************************************************** CICERO VICK Funeral services for Cicero Vick, 55, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Elias Vick of Branchville, who died suddenly Thursday morning, April 18, a victim of acute angina pectoris, at the home of his nephew, Dr. J.J. Grizzard, were held at the Branchville Baptist Church Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The services were conducted by his Pastor, Rev. F.B. Handley, assisted by Rev. J.L. Kibler of Boykins and Rev. R.D. Stephenson of Franklin. During the service members of the Branchville, Boykins, Severn and Conway choirs sang favorite hymns of the deceased. There was a large attendance and many floral offerings, the casket being covered with a pall of white carnations lilies and ferns. The active pallbearers were: S.M. Heffner, J.W. Holland, J.T. Rice, Mack Turner, J.T. Lassiter, Tom Parker and J.E. Harris. Mr. Vick was an active member of the Branchville Baptist Church and taught the class of junior boys for several years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Vivian Martin Vick; one son, Howitt Vick; two daughters, Mrs. Herman Babb of Murfreesboro, N.C., and Mrs. Evelyn Vaughan of Lynchburg; three brothers, W.H. Vick, R.D. Vick and E.R. Vick; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Bryant and Mrs. W.T. Grizzard, all of Branchville. Interment was made in the family plot in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins*.
