CARRIE THORPE VICK 

   NEWSOMS - A funeral service for Carrie Thorpe Vick, 95, was held at 2 p.m. 
Thursday in Newsoms Cemetery by the Revs. Arthur W. Green and Harry Bunch. 
McDowell Funeral Home of Boykins was in charge.

   Mrs. Vick died Tuesday in a hospital.

   A native of Southampton County, she was the widow of Guy Percy Vick.  She 
was a member of Newsoms United Methodist Church and was a former schoolteacher.

   Survivors include a daughter, Marietta V. Friesner of Baltimore; a son, 
James C. Vick of Shenandoah; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a 
great-great-grandson.
