Vick. Mrs. Vick died at the home of her son, Lewis H. Vick, near Drewryville, Sunday, April 6th, in her 77th year. A faithful true, loving, gentle and humble life has passed from us. But she has left Christian teachings which will ever live with those by whom she was surrounded. At the time of her death she was an earnest member of the Capron Baptist church and although for a number of years she was not strong enough physically to attend church services her heart was always with and for the people of God. Faithful to earthly duties she leaves a good record of steadfastness in the Christian way. When the end came she was ready and willing for her summons. Services were conducted from her home on Monday afternoon by her pastor, Rev. J. Sydney Cobb. She leaves one son, three grandchildren, one sister and two brothers, N.R. Turner of Capron and Joe T. Turner of Petersburg, besides relatives and a host of friends. We are assured however that our loss is her eternal gain. "Servant of God, well done!/ Rest from thy loved employ,/ the Battle fought, the vict’ry won./ Enter thy Master’s joy." [Mrs. Elizabeth "Bettie" Rebecca (TURNER) VICK, d. 6 Apr 1913, age 77, funeral: 7 Apr 1913, "The Tidewater News" (Franklin, VA), obit Apr. 11, 1913] [file transcribed by Mrs. Bruce Saunders (bs4403@verizon.net), and re-formatted by File Manager.]
