She was a daughter of W.B. Smith of Ivor and the late Mrs. Smith. The deceased was a member of the Newsoms Methodist Church and of it’s Women’s Society of Christian Service, of Southampton Chapter No. 68, Order of the Eastern Star, and of the Newsoms High School faculty. Besides her husband and father she is survived by a step-mother and three sisters, Misses Eleanor and Sue Smith of Ivor and Mrs. Paul Copeland of Suffolk. Funeral services were held in the Newsoms Methodist Church on Sunday afternoon, July 3, with the pastor, Rev. O.L. Gochenour, officiating. Burial was in the Newsoms cemetery. Active pallbearers were E. Beale Carter, Sr., R.N. Darden, Jr., Jesse Langston, James F.O’berry, George R. Price, Rudolph Rogers, James C. Story and James T.
