A native of Newsoms, he was a son of John Wesley and Mrs. Martha J. Vick and the husband of Mrs. Zella Marie Gray Vick. He was a member and former deacon of Newsoms Baptist Church and a member of its Men's Bible Class. Besides his widow, he is survived by a stepson, Henry B. Whittaker of New York City; a brother, Gay E. Vick of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Ray Vick and Mrs. Mattie Lassiter of Newsoms; and two grandchildren. A funeral service was conducted Friday at p.m. in W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home by Rev. L.F. Smith of Moyock, N.C. Burial was in Newsoms Cemetery. Pallbearers were E. Beale Carter, John Worrell, Leroy Dail, Lemuel Rountree, Julian Fowler, Gilbert Francis, W.T. O'Berry and Julian Carter.
