All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ FLETCHER VICK Fletcher Vick, 77, died Wednesday, November 16, in Newsoms at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ruby Vick Drake, after several weeks of declining health. Mr. Vick, a retired farmer, was a member of Newsoms Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Charles E. and Mary Newsoms Vick of Southampton County.* Besides his daughter, Mrs. Drake, he is survived by two sons, John Vick of Conway, N.C., and Jesse Vick of Newsoms; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Annie Story and Mrs. Fannie Jo Futrell, both of Newsoms. Graveside funeral services will be conducted tomorrow (Friday) at 2:30 p.m. in the Newsoms Cemetery with Rev. O.L. Gochenour, pastor of the Newsoms Methodist Church, officiating. Active pallbearers will be James Story, Jim Williams, John L. Vick, George Drake, Roy E. Drake and Linwood Drake, Jr. Fletcher VICK, retired farmer, Southampton Co. native, d. 16 Nov 1955, at daughter's home, near Newsoms, age 77, interred in Hollywood Cemetery*, Newsoms, 18 Nov 1955, "The Tidewater News" (Franklin, VA), Nov. 17, 1955, Sect. I, p. 8 *His father is also buried there.
