Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Harold Lewis of Courtland Baptist Church and the Rev. Bobby Tyson of Courtland United Methodist Church. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland. Pallbearers were Richmond War, Lloyd Vick Jr., J. Alton Vick, Jr., Bobby Vick, L.C. Journigan Jr., Frank Wine III, Michael Lassiter and Robert Wayne Vick. Vick, 88, a retired farmer and former town councilman, died Sunday morning in a Norfolk hospital. A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of Mrs. Cormen Peele Vick and a son of Erasmus and Mrs. Fannie Davis Vick of Courtland. He was a member of Courtland Baptist Church and a member of Courtland Ruritan Club. He was past president of Federal Land Bank Corp. in the county. Besides his widow, surviving are three sons, Lloyd J. Vick of Portsmouth, J. Alton Vick of Franklin and George W. Vick of Courtland; five daughters, Mrs. Frances V. Ward, Mrs. Betty V. Wine and Mrs. Ida V. Lassiter of Portsmouth, Mrs. Marion V. Jernigan of Courtland, Mrs. Connie V. Mason of Norfolk; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren; and seven step-children.
