JOEL SIMEON VICK

   Joel Simeon Vick of Portsmouth died quietly about 4:00 p.m. August 31, in 
the home of his son, Millard Vick, at 507 London Street, Portsmouth.  Mr. Vick 
was ninety-one years of age.  The body was brought to Boykins, which was his 
former home.  He is survived by one daughter and two sons, Millard Vick of 
Portsmouth and W.B. Vick of Boykins.

   Funeral services were held in the Boykins Baptist Church with the Rev. F.B. 
Handley officiating.  Musical selections were given by Misses Emily Hines and 
Virginia Dare Ferguson.  Floral bearers were: Elias Vick and Gilbert Bryant. 
Pallbearers were Clinton W. Rich, Robert Rich, Charlie Fuller, George Johnson, 
W.P. Gray and Felix Bryant.  Burial was in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins.
