The deceased is survived by two brothers, Emmett and Howard Vick, both of Newsoms; three sisters, Mrs. Maggie Holliday of Newport News, Mrs. Frances Simpson of Jonesville, N.C., and Mrs. Lilly Wynn of St. John, N.C. Funeral services were held at the Purviance Funeral Home, Boykins, on Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock, with Rev. R.L. Chadwick of the Newsoms Baptist Church officiating. Mrs. H.M. Purviance sang "Sweet Hour of Prayer" and "Good Morning Up There." Interment was in the Newsoms Cemetery. Active pallbearers were James Blythe, Ray Bunn, T.C. Cutchins, Howard Ellis, Lee Hill, J.R. Holloman, Edward Lassiter, C.L. Vick, Dellie Vick and Henry Whitaker. Flower bearers were Gail Simpson, Sarah Simpson, Esther Vick, Lucille Vick, Mrs. Cleo Francis and Mrs. Ethel Vick. The casket was covered with a pall of roses and asters.
