Vick, 66, husband of Mrs. Rosa Futrell Vick and son of the late James and Sarah Babb Vick, died in the King's Daughters Hospital, Portsmouth, on Saturday, January 24, at 2:30 p.m. after a short illness. He was a lifetime resident of this county, making his home in the Newsoms community. In addition to his wife he is survived by six sons, Dellie A. and Wade H. Vick of Newsoms, C. Frank Vick of Suffolk, Hugh L. Vick of North Hollywood, Calif., and Andrew T. and John E. Vick of Portsmouth; one daughter, Mrs. A.M. Padgett of 1010 Washington St., Portsmouth; fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Vick were conducted at three o'clock Monday afternoon, January 27, from the Newsoms Methodist Church by the pastor, Rev. John W. Morrison. Vocal selections rendered during the service were "In The Garden" and " In The Land Where We Never Grow Old." Pallbearers were John Q. Worrell, Ernest Coggsdale, E.B. Carter, Lee Coggsdale, L.D. Story and J.W. Drake.
