He was the son of Boggie and Mary Newsome Vick [sic*] of this county. He was a member of Newsoms Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dora Lassiter Vick; four sons, Wallace of Pendleton, N.C.; Henry of Norfolk, and Hugh and Edward Vick of Newsoms; two daughters, Mrs. Ervin Drake and Miss Dena Vick of Newsoms; two brothers, Joe D., of Boykins, and Fletcher Vick of Newsoms; two sisters, Mrs. E.P. Futrell and Mrs. Annie Story of Newsoms, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held July 30 at 3 p.m. at Newsoms Baptist Church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. C. P. Cleveland. Hymns were "Nearer My God, to Thee" and "God Be With You Till We Meet Again." Burial was in Newsoms cemetery. D.Cert. 18354 (Newsoms #16) The 1900 Census - Newsoms, Southampton Co. - gives b. Jan 1880. His mother was "Mollie" Mary E. (NEWSOM) VICK. Levy's first wife, Effie J. (WORRELL) POPE (1885 - 1916) is buried with her parents in a WORRELL family cemetery, on Fullers Mill Rd., near Boykins.
