VICK EX-TREASURER OF BRANCHVILLE BRANCHVILLE - Richard D. Vick, Jr., 45, farmer and partner in Vick and Grizzard, general merchandise firm, and former Branchville town treasurer, died Saturday in a Richmond hospital after a long illness. A lifelong resident of Southampton County, he was the son of Mrs. Ethel Harris Vick and the late Richard D. Vick; a member of Branchville Baptist Church and the American Legion. He was also a veteran of WW II. His wife is the executive secretary of the Southampton Tuberculosis Association. Besides his mother he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Bateman Vick; two sons Jimmy Vick and Tommy Vick of Branchville; and three sister, Mrs. E.W. Kelly of Bristol. Pa., Mrs. L.W. Grizzard and Mrs. Hugh Barrett Jr. of Newsoms. The funeral service was held Monday in Branchville Baptist Church. Burial was in Beechwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Thomas Grizzard, Victor Grizzard, Dr. J.J. Grizzard, Aubrey Woodard, B.C. Edwards, Louis Jordan, Clay Beasley and Claud Rock, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were member of the American Legion.
