All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ WILLIAM DEANS VICK William Deans Vick, resident of Kingsdale, near Franklin, died suddenly Monday morning, May 14, at his home following a heart attack. Mr. Vick, husband of Louise V. Vick of Franklin and the son of the late Charlie and Mrs. Hester Story Vick, was a native of Southampton County, making his home in Newsoms until about two months ago. He was a member of the Newsoms Baptist Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Miss Vivian Louise Vick of Franklin, and one son, Alvin Montague Vick of Suffolk; two brothers, Dellie R. Vick of Courtland and Luther B. Vick of Hopewell; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Vick Porter of Newsoms and Mrs. Mary Vick of Capron, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Newsoms Baptist Church by Rev. L.F. Smith. Burial was in the Newsoms Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Edward Vick, Hugh Vick, Henry J. Vick, Kelly Cole, W.P. Godwin, John D. Godwin, Charles Godwin and Fletcher Taylor.
