The son of John W. and Rosena Futrell Vick of Newsoms, he is survived besides his parents by a sister, Mrs. Louise Patrick of Portsmouth, and six brothers, John Elvin, Andrew, Dellie R. and Wade Vick, all of Newsoms, Hugh Lee Vick of California and Frank Vick of Roanoke Rapids. He was a member of Newsoms Methodist Church. Services were held at the home at 4 o’clock, March 18, conducted by the Rev. F.L. Baker, assisted by the Rev. C.P. Cleveland. Combined choirs of the Methodist and Baptist Churches sang. Pallbearers were Cury Lee Vick, Joseph Smith, Wallace Vick, Norfleet Spiers, Linwood Walton, and Willie Story. Burial was in Newsoms Cemetery.
