All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ALBERT EUGENE VAUGHAN Albert Eugene Vaughan, 31 years of age died at the home of his mother-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Taylor, in Sussex County Saturday morning, March 21, after being in ill health for many months. He was the son of the late Thomas Vaughan and Mrs. Lucy M. Vaughan of Courtland. Mr. Vaughan had been connected with the State Highway Department for 11 years, living a quiet and useful life and being highly esteemed by all who knew him. He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, Mrs. Ruth Tyner Vaughan of Sussex County; his mother, Mrs. Lucy M. Vaughan; four sisters, Mrs. Virginia Whitehead, Mrs. H.D. Babb, Mrs. F.W. Whitehead and Mrs. M.A. Worrell; and three brothers, Thomas, E.R. and R.L. Vaughan, all of Courtland, besides a large circle of others relatives and friends. Funeral services, attended by a large assemblage, were conducted Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock at Vincent Grove Cemetery by his Pastor, Rev. Clifford Ramsey and burial was made in the family plot there. Mr. Vaughan was a consistent member of Vincent Grove Church and had been since early childhood. Active pallbearers were; C.S. and E. M. Applewhite, C.S. Dickens, C.W. Barnes, G.T. Bryant, , P.B. Davis, Dr. I.P. Gilbert and Leroy Bracey. Members of the State Highway force in the county acted as honorary pallbearers.
