Vaughan, age 60, of the Sycamore community, died at his home Monday, July 6, after a two weeks illness of angina. Mr. Vaughan had lived his entire life in this immediate community and was known and loved by all who knew him. He was a real neighbor, faithful and devoted husband and father, counting no sacrifice to great for his family. For many years Mr. Vaughan was a faithful member of the Sycamore Baptist Church. Funeral services were conducted from the church Tuesday afternoon by Rev. Floyd P. Davis and Rev. R.D. Stephenson, interment following in the family plot in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers were; Tyler Edwards, Livy Edwards, H.L. Vaughan, Vernard Cotton, Ryland Edwards, Joe T. Darden, Dr. A.P. Cutchin and Hunter Darden. Mr. Vaughan is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maggie Lankford Vaughan; five daughters, Misses Irma, Sara, Eddie Mae, Temperance and Maggie Lankford Vaughan, all of Franklin, one son, Jesse Frank Vaughan of Norfolk and a sister, Mrs. J.C. Vaughan, of Franklin.
