All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ GROVER BINGHAM VAUGHAN Grover Bingham Vaughan, 66, a resident of the Courtland community for the past 40 years, died in Raiford Memorial Hospital on Sunday, May 25, after a brief illness. Mr. Vaughan was a member of the Courtland Baptist Church. His wife, who survives him, is the former Grace Babb. Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Violet Vaughan Smith of Owensville, Ohio, and Mrs. Thelma Vaughan Harris of Richmond; three grandchildren; a brother, Jack Vaughan of Ahoskie, N.C.; and a sister, Mrs. Ralph Duckworth of Brevard, N.C. Final rites were held in the Courtland Baptist Church on Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with the pastor, Rev. L.M. Kanipe, officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, with the following serving as pallbearers: Robert Bryant, R.G. Edwards, Sr., Lineberry Grissom, Vance Grissom, Aggie Joyner, Robert Reese, Willie Simmons and Willie Whitehead.
