A member of the Courtland Methodist Church, Mr. Vaughan was the husband of Mrs. Elsie Morris Vaughan of Sedley and son of the late Henry Thomas and Clara Darden Vaughan of Hertford County, N.C. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. R.R. O'Meara of [...*] and five sons, Thomas Vaughan of Sedley, Julian Eldridge Vaughan of Richmond, and Robert Edward, Harry Sidney and Wallace M. Vaughan, all of Norfolk; five grandchildren; and one brother, Walter C. Vaughan of Dayton, Ohio. Funeral service for Mr. Vaughan were conducted on Sunday afternoon in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons, with Revs. O.L. Gilliam and L.M. Kanipe of Courtland officiating. Burial was in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley. The active pallbearers were B.F. Hancock, Jr., E.E. Pittman, Johnnie Sims, B.H. Ward, Clyde Williams and S.D. Williams.
