All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ROBERT EDWARD VAUGHAN Robert Edward Vaughan, 46, well-known resident of the Sedley community, died Tuesday night, July 31, at his home from a heart attack. He was the son of Mrs. Elsie Morris Vaughan and the late Julian G. Vaughan of Southampton County. In addition to his mother, he is survived by four brothers, Wallace M. Vaughan of Norfolk, Julian Eldridge Vaughan of Richmond, Harry Sidney Vaughan of Greensboro, N.C., and Jesse Thomas Vaughan of Sedley, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:30 o’clock in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. C.A. McCormick, Jr., pastor of the Courtland Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley. Active pallbearers were Hartwell Barrett, Harold Barrett, John Simmons, Jr., Bennie Hancock, Elmo Pittman and G.S. Cornwell.
