I.C. Collins, a former pastor. Burial was in Southampton Memorial Park with W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Edward Vaughan, Vernon Joyner, S.T. Burbage, Joseph Whitley, George Parker and W.J. Rhodes. Mrs. Vaughan, 79, of Route 1, died Friday in a local hospital after a brief illness. She was a daughter of Hiram and Mrs. Nettie Story Woodard and the widow of Andrew Thomas Vaughan. She was a native of Hertford County, N.C. She was a member of Murfreesboro (N.C.) Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Joseph A. Vaughan and Robert T. Vaughan of Franklin; two daughters, Mrs. Bertha V. Stephens of Como, N.C. and Mrs. Julia Henderson of Franklin; a sister, Mrs. Evelyn W. Christman of Norfolk; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren. Rosa Lee (WOODARD; Mrs. Andrew T.)
