THOMAS VAUGHAN

   COURTLAND - A funeral service for Thomas Vaughan, 84, was held at 2 p.m. 
Sunday in Courtland United Methodist Church by the Rev. Richard L. McNutt. 
Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, with Wright Funeral Home in charge.

   Vaughan died Friday in a hospital.

   A lifelong resident of Southampton County, he was the husband of the late 
Grace Barnes Vaughan.  He was a member of Courtland United Methodist Church 
and its Men's Bible Class and the Methodist Men, and an honorary member of the 
Courtland Ruritan Club.  He was a retired farmer.

   Survivors include a daughter, Shirley V. Williams; a sister, Lucy V. 
Worrell; a brother, Roland L. Vaughan; and a granddaughter, Nancy Williams, 
all of Courtland.

   Memorial donations may be made to the Courtland United Methodist Church 
memorial fund.
