She was the wife of Walter Everett Vann and a daughter of Jesse and Mrs. Abbie Britt Brown. A native of Northampton County, N.C., she lived in the Franklin area 40 years. She was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church and Smith Ferry Home Demonstration Club. Surviving, besides her husband, are six sons, James E. Vann of Hampton, Claude K. Vann, Fred A. Vann, Jesse B. Vann, and Robert L. Vann of Franklin, and Linwood E. Vann of Murfreesboro; three daughters, Mrs. Charles Hughes of Norfolk, Mrs. H.L. Saunders of Hopewell, and Mrs. J.A. Riggins of Greenville, N.C.; two sisters, Miss Abbie Brown of Murfreesboro and Mrs. Martha Deal of Williamsburg; 21 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A funeral service was held Sunday at 2 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Thomas Mabe of Sycamore Baptist Church. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brent Vann, Earl Vann, Tommie Vann, James Atkins, James Johnson, and E.T. Johnson. Annie Melinda (BROWN; Mrs. Walter E.)
