Vries, died at the home in Newsoms of her daughter, Mrs. E. Beale Carter, on Wednesday August 8, after an illness of several months. She was born in Haarlem, The Netherlands, and came with her husband to this country in 1910, living for many years in Virginia and North Carolina. In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Carter, she is survived by one brother, Henri G. Milder of Georgetown, British Guiana; a sister, Mrs. F.F.F. Vries of Breda, The Netherlands; and two grandson, E. Beale Carter, Jr. and Stuart Vries Carter of Newsoms. Graveside services were conducted in Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms, on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock by Rev. R.B Moore, pastor of the Newsoms Methodist Church, assisted by Rev. R. L. Chadwick, pastor of the Baptist Church. Pallbearers were L.D. Story, J.L. Cogsdale, J.L. Carter, D.B. Rountree, Marshall Vick, R.N. Darden, Jr., D.T. Drake and H.E. Bailey. Catherine (MULDER; Mrs. John H.) VRIES, b.
