Weaver, father of a five year old girl, was found dead in a bedroom at his home in Franklin Tuesday, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the head. He was 31 years old. His death occurred Tuesday morning Lt. Wilson Carr of the Franklin Police said a 22 caliber pistol was found beside the body. One shot had been fired. Mrs. Weaver was outside the house at the time. She reportedly heard the shot and found the body. Weaver was employed by Brett’s Esso Service Center in Franklin. A native of Rice, he was a son of Joseph Edward Weaver and Mrs. Geneva C. Inge and the husband of Mrs. Catherine Edwards Weaver. He lived in Franklin 17 years. Besides his wife and mother he is survived by daughter, Elizabeth Kaye Weaver of Franklin; a brother, Charles Weaver of Franklin and a half-sister, Mrs. Bobbie Inge. A funeral service will be conducted today, Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins of Franklin Baptist Church. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** JAMES WELDON WEAVER FRANKLIN - Funeral services for James A. Weaver, who died at his home Tuesday morning, were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. John S. Steele, pastor of the Franklin Presbyterian Church, and Rev. Ira D. Hudgins, pastor of the Franklin Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were E.G. Brett, Grover Worrell, John Galloway, Wallace Mason, Henry Johnson and Gardner Cobb.
