West, who died suddenly at his home Tuesday Oct. 9, were held Thursday at Tucker Swamp Baptist Church at 3 o’clock with the pastor of the church, Rev. L. E. Holzbach, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were J.H. Clark, L.J. Hillyer, B.C. Bowden, G.F. Clark, L.E. Eley, and Percy Bradshaw. Members of the T.E.L. Bible class acted as flower bearers. A life-long resident of Southampton County and an active member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Lucy Herrin West; three sons, Capt. E.M. West, Jr., now stationed near Toyko, Japan; Lt. R.H. West, Baltimore; Pvt. Harold M. West, on duty in the Philippines; two brothers, L.T. West, Norfolk, L.R. West, Anjean, W.Va.; four sisters, Mrs. E.P. Lowe, Franklin; Mrs. Philip Raiford, Ivor; Mrs. I.D. Drewry, Zuni, and Mrs. A.E. Drewry, Zuni.
