MARY VERA JOHNSON WEST

   Mrs. Vera Johnson West, 81, a former resident of Ivor, died Saturday, 
December 24, 1978 at the Virginia Baptist Home in Newport News, where she had 
made her home for the past eight years.  She was a member of Park View Baptist 
Church and the widow of Charles W. West, Sr., Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Walter T. 
West, Fairfax, J. Russell West of Ivor, Marvin F. West, D.D.S., of 
Williamsburg; two daughters, Mrs. H.I. Schutte, Jr., of Richmond, Mrs. Elton 
Raiford of Ivor; four sisters, Mrs. B.L. Warren of Va. Beach, Mrs. David 
Andrew of Honolulu, Mrs. G.W. Leigh of Drewryville, Mrs. Frances Hatch of 
Wakefield; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

   Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Purviance Funeral 
Chapel, Wakefield with burial in Poplar Spring Cemetery in Franklin.  The 
family requests memorial donations to the Va. Baptist Home, Box 6010, Newport 
News, 23606.
