Oppressive Weather _ Demented Woman. 

  NORFOLK, VA., July 29.-[Special.]- The weather of 
to-day is as oppressive as it was yesterday.  The 
Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals 
have several agents upon the streets. 
  Information has been received of the death, which 
occured yesterday, of Mr. William B. Westbrook, in 
Southampton county.  Mr. Westbrook was well known 
in Petersburg and here.  He was about seventy years 
of age and had been sick for several months.  He 
leaves a wife and four children, who reside in Norfolk.

He appears in the 1850 Census (St Luke's P'sh, p. 249a, dwl/fam 128), 
   a farmer, age 26, with wife Lucy A. (17).

Two men appear in the 1860 Census (W of Nottoway R., p. 122),

His first wife Lucy Ann (1832-1856) is interred in the WESTBROOK family 
   cemetery, off Pope Station Rd.

Sidney Rivers WESTBROOK (1864-1952), a son by William's second wife 
   Virginia Ann (JONES) is interred in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland-
