A native of Wisconsin, he lived in Franklin since 1939. He was the husband of Mrs. Nellie McFarlane Wagenbach of Barron, Wis. He was a member of Franklin High Street Methodist Church, a veteran of World War I past commander of the American Legion, Post 73; district committeeman of the Boy Scouts, which awarded him his highest honor, the Silver Beaver; and a former assistant fire chief of the Franklin Fire Department. Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, James M. Wagenbach, Richard C. Wagenbach and Dean F. Wagenbach of Franklin and Harold A. Wagenbach of Warren, R.I.; four brothers, Charlie Wagenbach of Grand Rapids, Minn., Lawrence Wagenbach and Robert Wagenbach of Remer, Minn., and two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Homes of Minnepolis, and Mrs. Rungwell Hansor of Rener. The body was taken to the W.J.M. Holland Funeral Home where funeral services were conducted at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Robert D. Fridley of High Street Methodist Church. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery with military rites. The family requested donations be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
