Mr. Wiggins was the husband of Mrs. Grace Darden Wiggins, of Franklin, and son of the late John Bowers and Mary Parker Wiggins, of Southampton County. He was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church. Besides his wife he is survived by one son, John Bowers Wiggins of Franklin; his daughter-in-law Edna Brandt Wiggins, widow of Joe Darden Wiggins, who was killed in France, October 21, 1944; five sisters, Mrs. Dora Freeman of Carrsville; Mrs. Mary Norfleet, Mrs. Alice Breach, Mrs. Effie Lankford and Mrs. J.F. Kitterman, all of Norfolk; two brothers, J.E. Wiggins of Sunbury and J.L. Wiggins of Edenton. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the residence near Franklin on the Carolina highway. His pastor, the Rev. N.B. Blackman, will officiate. Interment will be in the family cemetery. ****************************************************************************** IRVIN QUINTON WIGGINS I.Q. WIGGINS DIES SUDDENLY AT HOME SATURDAY MORNING Irvin Quinton Wiggins, 74, well-known farmer of Southampton County, died suddenly at his home near Franklin early on the morning of February 3. Mr. Wiggins was the husband of Mrs. Grace Darden Wiggins of Franklin and the son of the late John Bowers and Mary Parker Wiggins of Southampton County. He was a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church. Besides his wife he is survived by one son, John Bowers Wiggins of Franklin; two grandchildren, John Bowers, Jr., and Joe Nye Wiggins, both of Franklin; his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Edna Brandt Wiggins, widow of Joe Darden Wiggins, who was killed in France, October 21, 1944; five sisters, Mrs. Dora Freeman of Carrsville; Mrs. Mary Norfleet, Mrs. Alice Branche, Mrs. Effie Lankford and Mrs. J.F. Kitterman, all of Norfolk; two brothers, J.E. Wiggins of Sunbury, and J.L. Wiggins of Edenton, N.C. Funeral services were held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the ancestral home of his mother’s family where Mr. Wiggins was born and spent his entire life. His pastor, the Rev. N.D. Blackman, assisted by the Rev. R.D. Stephenson of Franklin Baptist Church, conducted the service. The choir from Sycamore sang "Jesus Lover of My Soul," and Joel Cook Holland sang "Sunrise Tomorrow." He was laid to rest in the old family cemetery on the home place. The active pallbearers were: E.L. Beale, J. Letcher Eley, R.H. Allen, W.O. Cotton, S.W. Lankford, H.L. Vaughan, G.E. Pillow and Hugh Westbrook. The honorary pallbearers were friends of the family.
