Mr. Washington was the husband of Mrs. Josephine Turner Washington, of Capron, and the son of the late Eli and Elizabeth Wade Washington, of this county. He was a member of the Capron Baptist Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. W.H. Artis of Woodbury, N.J., Mrs. F.L. Edwards of Newport News, Mrs. M.C. Simmons of Waverly and Miss Ruby Washington of Portsmouth; eight sons, W.T. Washington of Suffolk, J.R. Washington of Newport News, G.E. Washington of Petersburg, M.T. Washington of Adams Grove, Joseph Washington of Capron, J.E. Washington of Portsmouth, A. A. Washington of Alexandria, L.R. Washington of Capron; fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Dalia Washington Turner of Goldsboro, N.C. Services are being conducted this afternoon at 4 o’clock at the home near Capron by the Rev. A.W. Coates. Burial will be in the family cemetery* with the following pallbearers; Dr. J.N. Applewhite, D.D. Barham, L.R. Magee, H.E. Smith, Hugh Powell, W.W. White, Jr., H.L. Smith and W.H. Story.
