All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ GEORGE THOMAS WADE George Thomas Wade, 49, a resident of Franklin for the past 23 years, died in Raiford Memorial Hospital on Tuesday night, August 4, as the result of a heart attack. A native of this county, Mr. Wade was a son of the late John Randolph and Mrs. Mollie Turner Wade of Sedley. He was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church and of its Bruner Bible Class. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Virginia Skinner Wade, two daughters, Misses Mary Page Wade and Donna Jean Wade, and a son, George Thomas Wade, Jr., all of Franklin; two sisters, Mrs. K.G. Howell and Mrs. O.H. Newsoms, both of Sedley; and a brother, Ernest Wade of Clarksburg, W.Va. Funeral services for Mr. Wade were conducted in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons this (Thursday) afternoon at 4 o'clock by Rev. Ira D. Hudgins, pastor of Franklin Baptist Church, and Rev. R.D. Stephenson. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Richard Barnes, Jr., Allen Faircloth, John T. Faircloth, Jr., Joe Holloman, Walter Saunders, George Skinner and Wallace Skinner.
