Wade, 87, of Appleton Road, died Oct. 1, 1993, in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin. A lifelong resident of Southampton County, he was the widower of Lizzie Slade Wade. Wade had retired as owner and operator of the Berlin Cash Store. He was a former County Tax Assessor. Wade was a member, deacon, trustee, and treasurer of Millfield Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn W. Brewry [sic; Drewry] of Ivor; and a granddaughter, Linda Kay Cass of Courtland. The funeral will be conducted Sunday at 4:30 p.m. by the Rev. Mike Harrell in Millfield Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at the residence of the daughter, 12068 Appleton Rd. Memorial donations may be made to the memorial fund of the church. Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, is handling arrangements. Herman W. Widowed, Flora 2m. John Thomas BRADSHAW 14 Jan 1916. She d. 22 Oct 1918 and was buried on the Gus Lewis farm. His half-brother James Kenneth WADE (1869 - 1952) is buried in Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
