All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JESSE AMBROSE WEEDE Jesse Ambrose Weede, 73, prominent resident of Franklin, and husband of Mrs. Jacqueline Davis Weede, died Tuesday morning, June 5, at Raiford Memorial Hospital after suffering a severe heart attack. Mr. Weede, an employee of W.T. Pace Hardware Co. for more than 50 years, retired a few years ago. He was a native of Murfreesboro, N.C., and was the son of the late Joseph Thomas and Celia Jackson Weede. He was a member of High Street Methodist Church and of the Masonic Lodge of Franklin for many years. Besides his wife, he is survived by two son, Joseph Davis Weede of Atlanta, Ga., and Jesse Ambrose Weede, Jr., of Franklin; one sister, Miss Pattie Day Weede, and two brothers, J. Edgar Weede and Willie M. Weede, all of Franklin, and three grandchildren, Bettie June, Kay and Jackie Weede, of Atlanta. Funeral services were conducted today (Thursday) at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by Rev. James W. Turner, pastor of High Street Methodist Church, assisted by Rev. J.S. Maxey. Interment was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Gardner T. Edwards, G. Carl Steinhardt, Edward F. Gilliam, F.F. Powell, T.C. Holland, Jr., E.A. Davis, H.B. McLemore, Jr., and Robert A. Vaughan. Jesse Ambrose WEEDE (Sr.), retired from W.T.
