White, of the Virginia Conference, died on the 12th inst., at his residence in Southampton county, in the 79th year of his age. He was a good and useful minister, and had been preaching fifty years. Rev. John W. Death Records (1853-1890). John W. WHITE & Ann R. [Rebecca] COBB m.bond 21 Jan 1836 m. 1836 by Benj. Devany (Southampton Co. M.Reg. pp. 461, 706; see also pp. 732-33) Their son William Walter WHITE (1842-1918), served as a 2nd Lt. in the Southampton Greys (D/3rd Va, CSA), and is buried in Riverside Cemetery (Episcopal Section, Plot 3).
