Wade was conducted Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, by the Rev. R.B. Garnett. Burial was in Ivor Cemetery. Pallbearers were L.A. Brantley Sr., S.S. Kea, Jr., Thomas Pulley, Randolph Garner, Emerson Council, J. Holt Brantley, L.A. Brantley Jr., and Marsden Pulley. Wade, 64, an Ivor merchant, died Sunday night in his home after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Southampton County, he was son of James K. and Mrs. Mary [sic*] Carr Wade. He owned and operated a general merchandise store and was a member of Ivor Baptist Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Sarah Luter Wade; three daughters, Mrs. Wayland H. Council and Mrs. J.H. Jackson of Ivor and Mrs. W.W. Vaughan Jr. of Franklin; a son, Edward O. Wade, both of Franklin; and two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie H. Brown of Franklin and Mrs. R.L. Lewis of Zuni; eight grandchildren and a great-grand-son.
